A Creative Retreat Through Rajasthan’s Living Arts

Shekhawati • Jaipur • Bundi • Udaipur

Step into Rajasthan, where art, craft, and daily life are woven into every courtyard, stepwell, and frescoed wall.
This 14-day art immersion leads you through Jaipur, Shekhawati, Bundi, and Udaipur—offering a deeply creative way to explore one of India’s most culturally rich regions.

Designed for all levels, the journey blends hands-on workshops, local cultural experiences, and time for personal reflection. You’ll learn directly from master artisans in block printing, natural dyeing, miniature painting, and traditional pigment-making, with dedicated space to develop your own creative practice.

Led by artist and longtime Udaipur resident Monica Figueredo, together with an experienced local tour expert, this retreat combines cultural discovery with meaningful, process-based artmaking—offering a grounded, intimate, and enriching way to experience Rajasthan.

Art & Living Traditions of Rajasthan

India’s artistic heritage is woven into daily life—seen in its textiles, frescoes, pigments, carvings, and the hands of artisans who carry centuries of knowledge forward. This retreat invites you into that living world through direct experience: learning traditional techniques, meeting makers, and creating your own work in dialogue with place.

Rajasthan offers a rare convergence of craft, architecture, and cultural memory. From frescoed havelis to stepwells and village workshops, each environment becomes part of your creative process. Rather than rushing from site to site, we slow down, observe deeply, and work with the materials, stories, and artistic lineages that shape this region.

With over ten years of life in India and extensive experience guiding creative practice, I support a small group in exploring block printing, natural dyeing, miniature painting, and pigment-making—alongside contemplative exercises and opportunities to engage with whatever form of creative expression calls to you. This is not a sightseeing tour; it is an intimate, hands-on creative immersion designed to awaken curiosity, presence, and authentic artistic expression.
